Fetal safety: Once a woman reaches 20 weeks it is important to be evaluated for the safety of both the mother and the fetus if you have symptoms that are concerning. You could have anything from a UTI to problems with the baby and should not hesitate to be further evaluated where there is a l&d floor available to monitor both mom and baby. It could be a virus but it better to be safe if you feel unsure.

Go to L & D: At 6 months, it's better if you go to your hospital's labor and delivery unit with stomach pains. Your symptoms may be preterm labor, not just a bowel virus. Ers are likely to keep you longer and not as able to rule out the pregnancy related problems.
