Not very.: You should not rely on the "pull out" method for birth control. You may start to release semen before you ejaculate. If you don't want to have a baby use birth control methods like the pill, shot, ring, or patch. If you are not in a monogamous relationship add a condom.

They have a name: They have a name for women who utilize the "pull out" method of contraception..... Mom. Failure rates of 20% or more are not unusual as a small amount of sperm can enter the vagina before ejaculation. You've been on the "safe" side of the odds to date, but if being a parent is not part of your future plans, consider more reliable contraception.

Not Reliable at All: The pull out method is not a reliable form of birth control & that increases your chance of becoming pregnant. There is a fluid called pre-ejaculate, that comes before an orgasm/ejaculation that can contain sperm. You usually cannot predict or tell that pre-ejaculation is happening. Use condoms/birth control to prevent unwanted pregnancy. Condoms also protect against stds, including passing hpv.
