Get in, get the job done and then get out. Try to take breaks from daily routine and get up and walk around.

Metabolism/Exercise: I support the previous excellent advice you've been given here. Keep exercising for overall health and not to gain weight. Keep in touch w/your doc and if hemorrhoids interfere w/comfort or function in life ask about having them removed surgically. Peace and good health.
