Is a brain contusion different from a concussion?

A brain contusion is a type of concussion characterized by a collection of blood within the brain seen on imaging (Ct scan, MRI). Most concussions have normal imaging, so seeing a collection of blood (contusion) in the brain would imply a more serious injury.
