A member asked:

Can clomid (clomiphene) prevent sperms from swimming to the egg? i read that it reduces cervical mucus thereby making it difficult for the sperms to move. how true

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Clomid (clomiphene): Clomid (clomiphene) can reduce the cervical mucus. It is for this reason that estrogen is often given around ovulation time. Clomid (clomiphene) has no effect on sperm movement, it makes the cervical mucus less hospitable to the sperm.
