Honey moon cystitis: In young women this is called honey moon cystitis and is usually UTI related to the encounter. We treat with antibiotic prophylaxis with sex. In peri/menopausal women this may as well be cystitis but may also be related to the effect of loss of estrogen in the vulvovaginal tissues. Topical Estrogens are frequently helpful. See your gynecologist for an exam and evaluation.
