Blackheads and acne: Acne is due to hormone induced changes in skin follicles/increased sebum production compounded by p. Acnes in the follicles & inflammation. Increased keratin in follicles mixed w/sebum results in comedo's or blackheads wh/create environment for acne. Topical retinoids & benzoyl peroxide are most effective for comedo's. Otc in low concentrations. Use faithfully twice daily if no effect need a doc.
