If you were to get heat exhaustion in the middle of the night, would you wake up?

Not normal: You shouldn't get heat exhaustion while you are sleeping anyway. Unless you are dehydrated and sleeping in an oven, this shouldn't be much of a concern. Drink some gatorade before bed and turn on a fan. You should be fine.
