Tendon rupture?: Given the location of pain, i would suspect a tendon rupture—palmaris longus, most likely. It is positioned directly over the median nerve (carpal tunnel nerve) and would be irritated by bleeding associated with a tendon rupture. Symptoms would likely affect the thumb through long/ring fingers. Ice/elevate, ace wrap, and consider hand surgeon evaluation if not improving. Palmaris is not important.
