A lot: Glutathione helps to strengthing the immune system, is involved in detoxifying drugs in the liver and also has antioxidant properties. Although produced naturally in the body, supplementation may help to support these functions.

Glutathione: Almost no information is available about the possible symptoms of a glutathione overdose. In fact, it is not even known if a glutathione overdose is even possible. An oral overdose of the supplement is probably unlikely, as research suggests that glutathione is poorly absorbed into the body when taken by mouth. Problems due to an overdose are probably molikely y occur if glutathione is taken im.

A 25-year-old female asked:
Is glutathione injection safe?
1 doctor answer • 1 doctor weighed in

Dr. Eric Farbman answered

Not great evidence: The question is, what are you getting the injection for? There are parkinson disease "doctors" who promote this scam as a treatment for parkinson disease when a recent trial did not show benefit. It is very expensive and of dubious benefit. There are a lot of sites that promote glutathione injections for other reasons...You'll notice that none of the sites are medical, and all are expensive.

This is somewhat outside my area of expertise. I think you will need to talk to a dermatologist, but my quick surfing of the web leaves me somewhat skeptical of using it for this purpose.

Are glutathione capsules safe?

Glutathione capsules: Glutathione capsules are safe. They aren't necessarily absorbed very well, but are not harmful. It would actually be digested! You could get I.V. glutathione or take supplements of the components the body uses to make glutathione itself.
