Use Plan B : Anyone having intercourse without birth control or condoms may get pregnant. If intercourse was within 72 hours you consider taking plan b. Ella (ulipristal acetate) is another brand that can be used up to 5 days after unprotected intercourse. Plan b is a high dose of birth control to disrupt the hormonal patterns to delay or prevent ovulation. Abnormal bleeding after is common. Check preg test in 10 days.

Female Fertility: The point in a woman's menstrual cycle where she is most fertile is around 14 days after she starts her period. That is usually when an egg is released and begins heading for the uterus (womb). Sperm can survive in the cervix/uterus for up to 3 to 5 days. If her periods are regular then it is unlikely that she will become pregnant. Note: use of condoms can reduce the risks of stds.
