If you haven't been: Sexually active don't sweat it. The #1 reason for a late period is pregnancy. But it can be caused by use of oral contraceptives, illness, travel, stress, heavy exercising, rapid weight gain, rapid weight loss, obesity, endurance athletics, anovulatory cycle etc. If you miss 3 or more periods, please see your gynecologist.

Late Period: Many things can upset the hormones enough to make your period late. One is pregnancy. If you are sexually active, this could be the reason. A new rigorous exercise routine, and even some simple stress can be enough to disturb your hormones to make you late. If you are concerned, you may want to discuss it with your physician, but most of the time it will straiten itself out.
