Irregular periods are common in adolescence depending on the overall health of the individual. Very athletic women and those with a low BMI are more prone to irregularity. However, this is something that should be brought to the attention of her primary doctor or gynecologist. A thorough history and physical exam could rule out other medical explanations.

Teens and even some adults will occasionally skip a cycle. If she goes past 60 days you may want to contact her doc. Sometimes they benefit from a hormonally triggered cycle if they go too long. The extra time between cycles can lead to a heavy cycle when she does have it.
