Pseudobulbar affect : To a syndrome characterized by emotional incontinence, lability of mood, and displays of emotionality that are often unrelated to an underlying emotion. It is commonly seen in underlying neuropsychiatric disorders such as multiple sclerosis, as well as in some forms of dementia. The emotional lability and emotional incontinence that is seen is not specific however and it is important to search for.
