Depends: Depends on the severity and whether they are thrombosed (clotted). Mild hemorrhoids can be treated with topical creams containing vasoconsticting medication or antiinflmmatory steroids. Thrombosed hemorrhoids can be drained in the er or office. Severe persistent hemorrhoids may require surgical removal, hemorrhoidectomy.
