See below: Congenital abnormalities of the heart do have an increased mortality, that is risk of dying, than a normal child. However, some of these lesions can be repaired so that the child can go on to lead a relatively normal life. Talk to you pediatric cardiologist or surgeon to get more details. Good luck.
