Yes and no!: It can infect a joint. But usually one, rather than mutliple. Will raise CRP and can cause a positive rf. Will not cause a positive ccp. Most will differentiate between to two, easily i might add!

No: I do not see anyway it could be mistaken for ra. The rheumatoid factor may be positive in infections but the ccp would be negative.
