Is it possible to relapse with tonsillitis before fully recovering from the first bout? or is being on antibiotics make relapse unlikely?

It's possible: Maybe the antibiotic wasn't covering all the potential pathogenic bacteria, maybe there are resistant bacteria that flared up. Being on an antibiotic doesn't eliminate the possibility of a flare in symptoms.
