Sounds like...: Perhaps your hands came into contact with an allergen. It is called contact dermatitis. Best to consult with a dermatologist. Best of luck.

Many causes: There are many potential causes for this including multiple types of eczema, auto-immune skin disorders, contact allergy, viral infection, and fungus only to name a few. You should see a dermatologist for a thorough exam.
