Range of reasons: Dry climate, high pollen/sinus irritation, high blood pressure, local trauma can all do it. If vaseline or antibiotic ointment on cotton swab gently wiped around interior of nasal passage 2-3 times daily does not see improvement in a few days, see your dr for examination and treatment recommendations.
