Is coffee helpful with asthma?

To some degree: Caffeine in coffee can act as a bronchodilator and help asthma symptoms, but i would not rely on it to treat an attack. Get your asthma controlled with medications, it can creep up on you very fast.

Not much: Caffeine is a cousin of theophylline, a drug that was used decades ago in pill and IV form to treat asthma. Its side effects included poor concentration, rapid heart rate and seizures if taken in high amounts. It was phased out when better treatments came along. Coffee at least should not aggravate asthma, but consumed in common amounts would do little to help.
