Avoid: Both alcohol and Ibuprofen can increase the risk of stomach ulcers and when used together, that chance is increased. Alcohol can lower your pain threshold while Ibuprofen generally increases it so these work at cross purposes. No: Both are irritating to the stomach, and the combination increases the risk of severe irritation (gastritis) or even bleeding. Alcohol should not be used for taking any medication and especially those that cause sedation or gastric irritation.
