Dif tests : Lgv is not a very common disease in the us. Traditional testing for chlamydia is not likely to detect it. If you think you have lgv then you definitly need to be seen by a physician.

Usually, yes: The LGV type of chlamydia shows up on standard chlamydia tests done on vaginal or cervical swab specimens. There also are blood tests to help with the diagnosis, but nowadays the main approach is to do a standard chlamydia test; if that's positive and severe symptoms suggest LGV, the same specimen can be tested further for LGV DNA. In any case, LGV is very rare, especially in women.
