Both are effective: The new tests available are effective for testing for chlamydia in the urine. If you can tolerate a pelvic exam however it is probably beat to have the pelvic exam so the physician can visualize your cervix and see the extent of your infection.

Urine: The nucleic acid amplification test test easy to do from urine and is quite accurate and rapid to perform.
