Occupational Therapy: Occupational therapy, or ot, is the type of therapy that helps a person return to the ability to carry out activities of daily living. That could mean something as simple as putting on a shirt or picking up a spoon, or more sophisticated chores as balancing a checkbook or driving a car. Some view ot as working with the upper extremity and pt with the lower, but that is too simplistic.
