What can you do to treat genital warts?

Destructive methods: There are a variety of topical treatments that can be used, or they can be frozen or burned off. Genital warts are caused by certain strains of the human papilloma virus and can potentially go away without treatment. Warts that recur or do not respond to treatment should be biopsied to rule out cancer.

Meds or destruction: There are some home treatments that you may use by prescription. The two best that i like are Condylox (podofilox) Gel or veragen gel. At the office i prefer to treat genital warts with both liquid nitrogen and the pulsed dye laser.

Go see your doctor.: It can be removed with medications, or surgical procedures that can de done in the doctor's office. •Take the necessary precautions to prevent trauma to the area, which can result in bleeding. •Be careful to prevent transmission to a sexual partner. •Because the warts themselves are infectious, avoid touching them. Do not pick or squeeze the warts.
