That can be one type: Of presentation. Some feel neck or back pain as disc herniates & then arm or leg pain if the disc presses against a nerve. Others can just experience just arm or leg pain or just neck or back pain. Occasionally, there is no pain but just neurologic symptoms like numbness. Discs can herniate with no symptoms as well. As we age, there is an increased finding of disc herniations on MRI normally.
