Is it possible to cure herniated disks?

It depends: Herniated disks, which are typically diagnosed with an MRI scan, are quite common, and most in fact cause no symptoms. Even when they do cause symptoms, those usually resolve over weeks to months. It is possible to remove the herniated disk material surgically, but this is only done in specific circumstances.

Cure, Unlikely...: Sciatica can be managed effectively and can be relieved in a vast majority of people, but it will always require diligence on your part for nsaids, exercise, stretching and weight control/loss. For those still having issues it may require treatments (injections, surgery, etc) to maintain relief as well. Stem Cell Therapies have shown some promise, but are still investigational at this time.
