Probably callous: Probably callus, could be alot of causes, including friction. If bothersome, let a podiatrist check you out.

Shedding: We naturally shed skin cells all over our body. For our toes, add in pressure from walking and moisture from toe sweat, that build up of dead skin is quickened and more pronounced. Hope that helps.
