There are two: White articular cartilage is termed hyaline cartilage, like the gristle on the end of a drumstick. Fibrocartilage, at least in the knee, is termed the meniscus or semi-lunar cartilage. The fibrocartilage is more of a creamy color, while hyaline is more white.
