Sounds like fungus: Keep in mind... The fda has recently come out with a blanket statement that toenail fungus can not be cured. It is "managed" by a number of modalities, but it can always come back in the future. See a podiatrist for evaluation and treatment options that will be best for you.

See a dermatologist: There are a variety of nail disorders including yellow nail syndrome, psoriasis, fungus, & dozens of others. A dermatologist has the best chance to identify the type of abnormality.
