A member asked:

Should i see a specialist for bloody stools, or can my regular doctor take care of it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bloody stools: Any good family doctor should be able to handle the initial evaluation and management of bloody stools just fine. There is a significant possibility, however, of his/her needing to refer you to a gastroenterology specialist to take a look inside, depending on your age and whether you have hemorrhoids or polyps, etc.
