Treatment for TBE: Tick borne encephalitis is a rare viral infection spread by tick bites. Death is rare and the disease resolves without treatment. Many patients may have permanent mild neurologic symptoms after the infection resolves. Steroids and non-steroidals like advil (ibuprofen) are used for headaches and other symptoms.
