Can be effective: Medical marijuana has been legal in colorado for several years, and was approved for recreational use within the past year. It is still illegal under federal law. While marijuana can be an effective treatment for pain and other medical conditions, it is important to be aware of the legal implications.

Illegal mostly: Most pain physicians are taught to be extremely careful about any medication that might be addictive. While marijuana is legal in colorado, and legal elsewhere under very specific circumstances, we must be diligent in being lawful and cautious when treating chronic pain. There are many individuals who lie to physicians to obtain opioids, and then sell them recreationally for profit.

MMJ only for some: Cannabis may help some people w/ pain and have few side effects. However, 10 percent of users may develop addiction which worsens their quality of life. Others can develop cognitive impairment, poor school/work performance, mood disorders or psychosis. Just know that med marijuana may work for some but is not for everyone. Also, just because something is natural does not make it safe (ex cocaine)

We don't: all disdain it. For certain conditions and medical situations, TCH and canibanoids have been scientifically proven to be effective forms of treatment. More and more science is being published every week proving this. What we don't support is self medicating. Like any medicine, there are benefits and side effects. Use intelligently and in proper proportion.
