Pregnancy test: Can other substances, such as medications or alcohol, interfere with the results of a home pregnancy test? Most medications, including birth control pills and antibiotics, do not interfere with pregnancy test results. The only meds that could cause a false positive are fertility meds containing derivatives of hcg. But no meds, of which I am aware, can cause false negative (i.e. Test neg but preg).
