Be calm : Most children in this age group eat poorly. Once hormones kick in during puberty, appetite will soar. Right now nagging them to eat only makes things worse. Offer nutritious foods, avoid sugary snacks and drinks, and keep the portions from appearing overwhelming. As long as there is good health and regular growth the child will be fine.

A common fault: Is parent anxiety. You only have responsibility to provide the food. You can't make him eat it. Leave him alone and do not show your own anxiety. If he takes the food and does not eat it, ask him if he wants it. If he shakes his head "no" put it in the fridge and warm it for the next meal. Do not substitute if he claims hunger 2 hours later.. Kids love to control parents and this is one way.
