Ingrown nail?: This may be due to an ingrown toenail, you should see a podiatrist who can properly evaluate and treat the problem. I do notbrecommend putting off treating an infection.

Early but: Although it's still early, a toe infection could be caused by an ingrown nail. If so, antibiotics aren't as effective as is physically removing the source of the infection and pain (the ingrown nail). Once the ingrown nail is removed (assuming no medical history risks), your toe infection can start to heal. Hope this helps.

Try: Soaking it in betadine solution mixed wit warm water. This may help and culture should be taken to see which bacteria is causing it so you can be on right antibiotic.
