Day of ovulation: The egg can only fertilized for perhaps 12 hrs after ovulation. The embryo grows and implants 6 or 7 days later in the uterus. The sperm can live in the cervix for up to 3 days.

No: Ovulation occurs over a few hours and the egg can only be fertilized for 12 to 24 hours. Sperm has to be waiting in the reproductive tract prior to ovulation for conception to occur.
