Eastern medicine: Auricular acupuncture is a method of treatment in which special needles are inserted into specific regions of the external ear thought to correspond to various systems of the body in order to rebalance energy. While these methods are not likely to do harm, it is important to keep in mind that there is little empirical evidence for their effectiveness.
