Not that useful: This is an unpleasant and largely ineffective treatment nowadays. For the acute lesions, if topical benzoyl peroxide 5% 2x/day has not cleared you in two weeks, get with your personal physician for perscription-strength rx. It won't touch any but the most superficial scars; for these you need a specialist with a laser, microsurgery or a filler.
