Breakthrough bleed: The later in the cycle you start your pack of pills the higher the chance of breakthrough bleeding. It can take a few cycles to regulate. I usually recommend that my patients start their pills the first sunday after starting their bleed. The reason we use sunday is so you are less likely to have your period on a weekend.
