Cortisone cream: Best not to use topical Benadryl (diphenhydramine) as it is a potent sensitizer and many will develop an allergic reaction from it. Topical cortisone creams work best. The redness and lump should gradually fade. Some insect bites persists for years and are called dermatofibromas.
