Dry eyes?: Assuming your ms and optic neuritis are controlled with no active inflammation, then dry eyes are the most likely cause of your eye pain. An easy test is to try otc preservative-free artificial tears every hour and see if the pain improves. Either way, you should probably see your eye md.

Optic neuritis: Pain on movement of the afflicted eye is classical with optic neuritis, as is the loss of vision and color desaturation. Some MS patients have issues with migraine headaches, in fact double the incidence of general population.
