Dr. must evaluate: On average, a period lasts 4-7 days. It is not normal for a period to last three months. You could be in danger of anemia from losing blood, so you should get this checked out by a physician as soon as possible to find the cause of the problem.

Prolonged menses: How old are you? Are you near menopause? Are you on birth control? How long between these 3-month episodes of bleeding? Suggest you see fp or gyn soon for thorough exam to determine cause of this condition. Be sure to take all meds & supplements along so doc can see if any meds are causing problem.
