A member asked:

What is the %ratings on the success on lumbar surgery?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

50/50: I have asked this very question of my friends who do spinal surgery. If it's done strictly for pain, the success rate is quoted to be about 50%. Compression (nerve) symptoms usually have a higher success rate. Make sure you ask this very question to your spine surgeon, who may be orthopedic or neurologic in training. Good luck.
