Two possibilities: It could be infection with a herpes virus; typically hsv 1 which causes oral lesions often times associated with stress, sun exposure or other illnes. Genital herpes which is hsv2, can also cause oral lesions so you should see your doctor for treatment. Angular chelitis can cause inflammation in the corner of your mouth; it can have several causes but moisture that accumulates at night is one.
