Surgery: Cataracts are a loss of transparency of the lens of the eye cllouding the image. Most are age related. The only possible treatment is surgical removal with insertion of a prosthetic lens. Techniques now are so advanced, safe and predictable that there is nothing to fear from this course.

Cataract surgery: Cataracts are a natural change in the lens of the eye. As we age, the lens loses its clarity, causing vision to become dimmer. Additionally, glare around bright lights and prescription changes occur. The only treatment available for cataract is surgery to replace the cloudy lens with an artificial one that will never cloud up again. Your eye doctor can discuss the new lens options available.
