Do eye drops help get rid of cataracts?

6 doctors weighed in across 3 answers

No: Cataracts are opacities (cloudy spots or spots that block light from passing through) in the lens. The lens is originally clear, and changes its shape to focus on what a person looks at. It is inside the eyeball, behind the colored iris and the pupil. Cataracts form after many years of sunlight exposure and from other causes such as prolonged Prednisone use. No eyedrops are able to help cataracts.

No: Although some products advertise this, it has never been proven. Cataracts need to be treated surgically.
