Dr. Arthur Balin answered

Specializes in Dermatology

Hidradenitis: Hidradenitis is a chronic papulopustular, nodular, and cystic condition that develops in areas with high concentrations of apocrine glands. It can be treated by your md or dermatologist. It is usually treated with internal antibiotics such as those used for cystic acne. Sometimes incision and drainage of cysts is needed. Your dermatologist will have other treatments for difficult cases.
