EC: Ec (emergency contraceptiion) is used after this type of accident. Ec pills are available in the usa to anyone over 18 without a prescription. You should start them as soon as possible after the incident, up to 72 hours. They can only be used once during a menstrual cycle. An intrauterine contraceptive device can be inserted after an accident as well.
